Saturday has been devoted to qualifying heats of the second round of the WSK Super Master Series that is underway at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno (Salerno, Italy). CRG drivers have been putting in good performances, with Felice Tiene taking on the role of star in category OK.

TIENE WITH A WINNING PACE IN OK

Following the unlucky qualifying on Friday, Felice Tiene, on CRG-Parilla, promptly recovered in OK, filling all the gap in the first heat, where he took the fourth place. He has then been pushing hard again in the second heat, climbing all the way to the victory. The Italian driver set off from the pole position in the third race taking a dominant win. Tiene has therefore great chances for the Final stages on Sunday as he is currently second after the heats. His team mate Pedro Hiltbrand, who is the current classification leader after the first round of Castelletto, has managed to score three good results in the heats of Sarno and is currently 12th absolute. The German driver of CRG Hannes Janker had also a solid run ended in P8, as did Tom Joyner (Zanardi), who is currently tenth. The Finnish driver Paavo Tonteri has had a more troubled day and ended 19th due to an incident, as the Israeli Ido Cohen, who is 24th after the heats in his debut race among the ranks of the works team.

Felice Tiene: “I made a judgment mistake on Friday in qualifying on the humid tarmac, but in the heats I managed to recoup very well. We will try to have a go at it on Sunday. We made a great step forward, especially compared to where we stood in Adria's opener. In Castelletto I was penalized a bit for not running heats, but I was really quick. The material is great, I am satisfied.”
